Photographieren ist bereits seit der Grundschule mein Hobby. Begonnen hatte ich mit einer Kamera, in die man einen Kleinstformatfilm einlegen konnte. Die Kamera selber wog kaum mehr als fünfzig Gramm und existiert nicht mehr. Später konnte ich die manuelle Spiegelreflexkamera Konica Autoreflex TC / ACOM-1 meiner Eltern benutzen, die ich ihnen irgendwann auch abkaufte und noch immer besitze. In der Sekundarschule besuchte ich ein Projekt, wo ich neben der Schwarz/Weiss-Photographie auch das Entwickeln lernte. Der Rückschritt zu den Kompaktkameras kam erst mit meiner Reise nach Kanada im Jahr 1999. Ich wollte aus dieser Reise zu jedem Zeitpunkt eine Kamera bei mir haben, und das war mit der APS-Kamera Canon IXUS Z70 bequem möglich, wenn ich auch mit den Bildern nie richtig zufrieden war. Im Jahr 2003 kaufte ich mit der Sony DSC-P92 zum ersten Mal eine Digitalkamera, die wegen einem Defekt vor meiner Reise nach Madagaskar durch eine Canon IXUS 800 IS ersetzt werden musste. Im Jahr 2008 erfolgte schliesslich nach langem Zögern mit der Canon EOS 450D der Schritt zur digitalen Spiegelreflexkamera, die in Schottland und Costa Rica eingeweiht wurde. Ich habe mich immer gesträubt, Bilder mit Software zu manipulieren. Meine Philosophie ist, dass das Photo in der Kamera entsteht und damit ein Zeitdokument ist. Öfters habe ich aber auch bereits Serienbelichtungen gemacht. Aus solchen Photos kann man idealerweise HDR-Bilder erstellen. In der nächsten Zeit werde ich versuchen, da ein paar Experimente zu realisieren.

Photography has been a hobby since I went to primary school. It started with a camera that used a film cassette of very small proportions. The cameras weight was probably less than fifty grams. I don't remember its produce and it does not exist anymore. Later I could use the all-manual SLR Konica Autoreflex TC / ACOM-1 that my parents owned and which I bought from them some years later. I still own it. During secondary school there was a project course where besides black and white photography I was trained in the development of films. The step back to compact cameras was when I travelled to Canada in 1999. Then I wanted a camera that I could carry with me all the time. It was an APS camera Canon IXUS Z70. Actually, I was never really happy with the quality of the pictures taken by that camera. In 2003 I bought the first dicital camera, a Sony DSC-P92. It was replaced by a Canon IXUS 800 IS because of a malfunction before I went to Madagascar. In 2008, after long hesitation, with a Canon Digital Rebel XSi I did the step towards digital SLR photography. |

LiteraturDie Auswahl an verfügbarer Literatur über die Photographie ist enorm. Die folgenden Bücher finden sich in meiner privaten Bibliothek. Am meisten gelernt habe ich vom Buch «Understanding Exposure» von Brian Peterson. Es widmet sich ausschliesslich der korrekten Belichtung in unterschiedlichsten schwierigen Situationen. Die Reihenfolge, in der die Bücher aufgeführt werden, ist nicht wertend.
