Auf unserer Reise wurden wir fast schon süchtig, alle Leuchttürme entlang der Route zu besuchen, insbesondere entlang der Küste Oregons. Es ist schwierig zu erklären, was genau diesen grossen Einfluss verursachte, vielleicht liegt es daran, dass man als Schweizer keine Leuchttürme kennt, denn die braucht es in einem Binnenland nicht. Vielleicht liegt es auch daran, dass man viele der Türme besuchen und besichtigen konnte und dabei immer viel über die Geschichte der ersten weissen Siedler an der Westküste Nordamerikas und deren Leben lernen konnte.
